WebDev Intern at WebSeva

🌐 Web Developer Intern (Remote)

Location: 100% Remote | Type: Unpaid Internship | Duration: Summer 2025
Start Date: Flexible | Commitment: ~6–14 hours/week (we’re flexible!)

🧠 About WebSeva

WebSeva is a tech-for-good initiative where we build free, professional websites and tools for non-profits that are doing amazing grassroots work but lack the technical resources. We believe technology should empower those who empower others.

If you're someone who ships fast, loves to code, and laughs at terrible dad jokes, you’ll fit right in.

💻 What You’ll Work On

You’ll be part of a small, passionate team building and maintaining real-world web projects for NGOs across India (and hopefully, the world). Depending on your interests and skill level, you might:

• Build and improve responsive, accessible websites using Next.js and TailwindCSS

• Work on cool features like image galleries, AI chatbots, building RAGs, etc.

• Set up hosting, domains, and deployments (we mostly use Vercel)

• Collaborate with designers, copywriters, and other devs

• Write clean, maintainable code and meaningful Git commits

• Explore creative solutions for scaling and reusing code for multiple NGOs

🧰 You’ll Thrive If You Know (or Want to Learn):

• HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (React knowledge is a bonus!)

• Next.js (we’ll help you learn if you’re new)

• Git & GitHub workflows

• Basic deployment concepts (Vercel, Netlify, etc.)

• How to Google like a pro and learn on the fly

No CS degree required. If you can code and care, we care about you.

🎁 What You’ll Get:

Letter of Recommendation from the founders (we got your back for jobs & colleges)

Certificate of Completion

• Featured on our website’s Team page

• A chance to make real impact — your work will directly help NGOs do more good

Mentorship and a lot of pair programming if you’re up for it

Flexible hours, chill culture, and yes, we have a #dad-jokes Slack channel

✅ Who This Is For:

• An ambitious high schooler or college student who’s looking to apply their skills to something meaningful

• Someone who believes that the team’s mission is their mission — you care about the cause, not just the code

• A collaborative learner who’s never afraid to ask the “basic” questions (yes, even how to center a div)

• Someone who’s excited to grow, make mistakes, and gain something real from this experience.

• You are a real pookie 🎀

❌ Who This Isn’t For

• Someone who already knows everything and isn’t open to feedback or learning

• Someone only looking for a paid gig — this one is for love, not money (for now!)

• Someone who thinks supporting non-profits isn’t “real work” or isn’t worth their time

• Someone who takes themselves too seriously — we like to keep things light!
