CopyWriter Intern at WebSeva

✍️ CopyWriter Intern (Remote)
Location: 100% Remote | Type: Unpaid Internship | Duration: Summer 2025
Start Date: Flexible | Commitment: ~6–14 hours/week (we’re flexible!)
🧠 About WebSeva
WebSeva is a tech-for-good initiative where we build free, professional websites and tools for non-profits that are doing amazing grassroots work but lack the technical resources. We believe technology should empower those who empower others.
If you're someone who ships fast, loves to code, and laughs at terrible dad jokes, you’ll fit right in.
💻 About the work
Words matter. As a Copywriter Intern, you’ll be the voice behind our mission. You’ll write copy that inspires, informs, and helps us connect with NGOs, volunteers, and supporters. Your words will live on websites, social posts, email campaigns, and maybe even pitch decks.
You’ll get to:
• Write clear and compelling copy for websites we build for NGOs
• Draft content for WebSeva’s own website, social media, and blog
• Collaborate with designers, web developers, and growth folks to shape messaging
• Learn how to write for different audiences — donors, volunteers, the general public
• Bring storytelling into the nonprofit tech world
🧰 Skills that help:
• Strong command of English and a feel for tone
• Interest in writing for impact, not just aesthetics
• Ability to take feedback and rewrite (because first drafts are never perfect!)
• Bonus: knowledge of SEO, UX writing, or nonprofit comms
• Even more bonus: you’ve written for blogs, websites, newsletters, or brands before
🎁 What You’ll Get:
• Letter of Recommendation from the founders (we got your back for jobs & colleges)
• Certificate of Completion
• Featured on our website’s Team page
• A chance to make real impact — your work will directly help NGOs do more good
• Mentorship and a lot of pair programming if you’re up for it
• Flexible hours, chill culture, and yes, we have a #dad-jokes Slack channel
✅ Who This Is For:
• A high schooler, college student, or aspiring writer looking to build their portfolio
• Someone who believes writing can change minds, raise funds, and tell powerful stories
• A curious communicator who loves simplifying big ideas
• Someone who sees a typo in public and cringes just a little
• A team player who’s happy to collaborate, brainstorm, and hit backspace a hundred times if needed
• You are a real pookie 🎀
❌ Who This Isn’t For
• Someone looking for a paid position
• A person who thinks copywriting is just “fancy grammar”
• Anyone who isn’t open to feedback, revisions, or collaboration
• Someone who doesn’t care about impact or social causes
